Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a nationwide lockdown has been in place since March 24, and recently it was extended till May 17. However, this time around the health ministry had set out several relaxations based on the number of cases.
With relaxations applied all over the nation, road traffic and businesses started functioning as usual, and many shops were opened. However, in Tamil Nadu, liquor shops haven't been opened yet and this has created another huge trouble.
As liquor shops in other states have been opened due to relaxations in lockdown 3, people have crossed the Tamilnadu - Andhra Pradesh borders and in places like Nagari lots of people violated social distancing to buy liquor and massive crowds can be seen in the videos shot in these locations. With such a huge crowd formed to get liquor, the number of cases are further expected to increase in the coming days.
