Amid the lockdown, a man in Kerala had to walk nearly one kilometer carrying his 65-year-old ailing father after cops blocked their autorickshaw. The incident happened on Wednesday at Punalur, Kollam.
Reportedly, the man's father was undergoing treatment for a urinary infection and was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday morning. While his son was heading to the hospital in an autorickshaw to take the elderly man back home, the police stopped him despite showing the hospital records. Left with no alternative choice, the man walked to the hospital and carried his father, who weighs approximately 80 kg, in his arms and walked towards the autorickshaw that was parked 500 meters away from the hospital.
The video of the incident has surfaced online. And we could see his aged mother too walking with them. Reportedly, the Human Rights' Commission has filed a case and asked the district police chief to probe and submit a report. Police officials said they had asked the man for hospital documents but he did not have any and hence they stopped the autorickshaw.
