As there are just four days left for the end of the lockdown imposed in several parts of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami is all set to have a meeting on June 29, with a panel of experts who had previously recommended the total lockdown.
The Chief Minister will have a discussion with the panel on the effects of this lockdown and whether it was effective in lessening the number of cases in places like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu where the lockdown was imposed, besides places like Madurai and Theni where lockdown was imposed late.
Interacting with media in Trichy, the Chief Minister announced that any information regarding the extension of the lockdown will be revealed after the meeting on Monday and that the state government will consult the Centre as well in this. Edappadi Palanisamy claimed that the lockdown was successful, although Tamil Nadu has reported more than 3500 new cases on Thursday as well as Friday.
