The Jaganmohan Reddy government on Monday said that the lockdown in the State stands extended. The lockdown is not coming to an end on June 10, as expected.

It has today been extended until June 20. In a welcome piece of news for businessmen and self-employed people, the relaxation time has seen an extension. While the relaxation hours have been 6 am to 12 noon thus far, from June 20, the hours are 6 am to 2 pm. The declining number of cases and the receding second wave has prompted the government to keep trying the same strategy of relaxation-curfew binary.
The government today decided that government offices shall be allowed to open from 8 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, the State is witnessing a steady drop in fresh coronavirus cases. On June 6, it logged 8,976 new cases. The total number of cases till now stands at 17,58,339. There were 90 new covid deaths.
So far, 11,466 covid patients have died in the State as per official records. About 1,23,426 are an active number of cases.
