As Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown after the rising number of coronavirus cases in India, actor and politician Kamal Haasan has given his opinion to the prime minister regarding the impact of the lockdown on daily wage workers in the country.

Kamal Haasan's tweeted in Tamil that the government should think about the daily wagers situation during the 21 days lockdown and not ignore them adding that this is not the time to help only the industrialists and that ignoring the small and medium industries who always saved our economy will lead to downfall of the country and it is history.

Kamal Haasan had earlier written an open letter to the prime minister regarding the livelihood of daily wage workers, agriculture and manual labourers, fishermen and MSME workers in the times of coronavirus outbreak and had urged Economic Response Task Force to look after the wages of workers.
