Following the end of the second phase of lockdown on May 4, yesterday, the ministry of health announced that the central government is extending the nationwide lockdown by another two weeks till May 17.
Today, after discussions with collectors and ministers, chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy announced that the TN govt will also be following the central government announced lockdown, and has set the guidelines for the third phase of lockdown.
Some of the important features of the lockdown 3 guidelines for entire Tamil Nadu are as follows: Plumbers, Electricians and domestic help must acquire special permission from district Collectors and then work, Essential shops can be opened from 6 AM to 5 PM, Non-essential shops can be opened from 11 AM to 5 PM, Restaurants can be opened from 6 AM to 9 PM for delivery/Take away, Hair Salons and Beauty Parlours should not be opened.In addition to the above, in Chennai IT and ITES companies can function with 10% of Staff (Minimum of 20 Employees) with own transportation.
