Mega prince Varun Tej has wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film Loafer. The last portion of the action sequences were shot on Varjun Tej, leading lady Disha Patani, Mukesh Rishi, Ali, Sapthagiri and Brahmanandam at an outdoor location in the city. Directed by Puri Jagannath, the film's post production is simultaneously progressing at rapid pace and the makers are planning to release the film for Pongal.

Touted to be an action-drama, Varun will be seen as a pick-pocketer in this film. C Kalyan is producing the film which also has Revathi and Posani Krishna Murali in prominent roles. The makers are planning to rename the film as Maa Amma Mahalakshmi to get universal acceptance so that more people can relate to the story. Sunil Kashyap has scored the music.
