Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has reportedly threatened to leave Paris Saint-Germain if the Ligue 1 club signs Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo following his departure from English club Manchester United.
Reports have mentioned that Messi allegedly informed PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he'll return to Barcelona in case the club signs Ronaldo. The Portuguese footballer, who is reportedly concerned about the lack of activity in the transfer market, is likely to leave Manchester United this summer in order to continue playing Champions League football next season. Ronaldo, who only returned to Manchester United a year ago after leaving Italian club Juventus, did well for himself on an individual level after scoring 18 goals in 30 league appearances, but the team suffered despite that after finishing sixth in the Premier League.
As a result, the Red Devils did not qualify for the UEFA Champion’s League. Ronaldo has a contract with Man United until June 2023. According to reports, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Napoli are some of the clubs interested in signing the player.
