The Nipah virus or the NiV infection which is mostly spread by fruit bats has made Kerala go into high alert mode. With no substantial vaccines for this virus, it becomes dangerous along with having the capability of sending the person into a coma within 48 hours. As of now the infection has claimed 10 lives.

Here’s the one heart breaking story of a nurse who got infected while treating patients. Lini Puthussery was 31 and a mother of two kids as well. Her note to her husband reads ‘I am almost on my way. . take care of our children”.

“Saji Chetta, I am almost on my way. I don't think I will be able to see you. Sorry. Take care of our children properly. Our innocent child, take him to the gulf. They shouldn't be alone like our father. Lots of love...,” she wrote. The note is being widely shared in social media platforms.

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has stated that Lini’s selfless service will be remembered. The Perambara hospital had cremated her body soon even before her relatives could see her in order to avoid spreading of infection.

May Lini Puthussery’s soul rest in peace.
