Thirrupathi Brothers, the production house of director Lingusamy, filed a complaint against Kamal Haasan in the Producer's Council regarding the 'Uttama Villain' controversy on May 2nd. It is a well-known fact that the producers suffered a heavy loss after producing 'Uttama Villain'.

In the complaint, Thirrupathi Brothers elaborately unravels the series of events that happened before and after 'Uttama Villain'. The production house joined hands with Kamal Haasan in 2013 when he agreed to do a film at a budget of 50 crores on a first-copy basis. Ulaganayagan bagged the overseas and North India rights of the movie for 15 crores.

The statement further said that Kamal Haasan didn't proceed to make the first script he narrated to the Thirrupathi Brothers, which they liked. The actor disagreed when the Thirrupathi Brothers asked to remake 'Drishyam' while he did it under another banner. Then, Kamal went on to make 'Uttama Villain' which faced many issues during its release in 2015.

Thirrupathi Brothers took huge loans before the release of 'Uttama Villain' and incurred a heavy loss following the release of the film. The complaint says that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan agreed to do a film at 30 crores in the script chosen by the Thirrupathi Brothers as compensation. But he hasn't done the compensation even after 9 years.

The producers requested the Producer's Council to interfere and convince Kamal Haasan to do a film for compensation with the Thirrupathi Brothers. Also, they had added Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's official letter which agreed to do a compensation film for the Thirrupathi Brothers. This news has caused a stir in the film industry.
