The film has the best of everything - KS Ravikumar helming the project, Rajinikanth as the hero and AR Rahman on music. 'Lingaa' has progressed at phenomenal speed and is complete, but for a couple of songs, which will soon be shot abroad. The crew will leave the country shortly for this shooting. Meanwhile stunt choreographer Lee Whittaker revealed on his social network that the climax fight scene of this film is nothing like anything witnessed earlier. He says that it is the best sequence in his career, with some of the most dangerous stunts in action, and all of it was meticulously planned and it has come out bewitching.

Another interesting aspect of the movie is Anushka Shetty's role in it. Insiders say that her role is powerful and equal in stature to that of Rajinikanth's, likening her role to Ramya Krishnan of 'Padaiyappa' and Jyothika of 'Chandramukhi'. Sonakshi Sinha plays the other heroine in the movie, which has been planned for a grand release on Superstar's birthday, on December 12th this year.
