The press and the media had a full view of the pooja of "Kuselan" that took place last week amidst mush fanfare. Yesterday, on March 17, 2008, the film started rolling out at the Ramoji Film City in Hydrabad. The original is the super hit Malayalam flick "Katha Parayumbol" that starred Malayalam superstar Mammootty and the talented Srinivasan in the lead roles.
After much thought the Tamil version was altered to suit the Superstar and the Tamil audience. With a couple of song sequences as well as the Superstar-style stunt scenes, the film is expected to have a roaring success once it hits theatres. Apart from the scenes of the superstar being stretched, the Tamil version will also have an additional character where Prabhu will share screen space with the Superstar.
The Malayalam version had Mukesh portraying a teacher in a tutorial college but that character has been axed in the Tamil remake, and instead Prabhu, who proved to be the superstar's lucky charm in "Chandramukhi" will reportedly play the part of a cop of a village who will be the guardian angel for the superstar.
G.V. Prakash who is rapidly rising to fame with his memorable tunes has composed music for this film too. The young musician is thoroughly excited to tune in for this film which has the Superstar in the lead role. As already mentioned, Nayantara will be playing opposite Rajinikanth, and Pasupathi will play the part of Rajinikanth's childhood friend. Meena is the wife of Pasupathi and the couple has a child.
Reports are also flowing in suggesting that a dream song will be shot with Rajini and Nayantara in the backwaters of Kerala. As usual the film will have an introduction song featuring the Superstar.
The second part of the shooting schedule will begin in Pollachi soon. The director P. Vasu is soon shooting the portions involving the Superstar because the call sheet for Rajini is for 25 days after which the superstar will dive completely into the mega project "Robot", directed by Shankar.
