Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' has locked its release date. Contrary to speculations, it is not going to hit the screens during the Summer of 2022. The pan-India flick has been pushed to August 25, 2022. It's on this date that the "beast will be unleashed to the nation".

"The pan-India movie is ready to splash its blood, sweat, and entertainment," the makers said on Thursday, announcing the release date. "THE ACTION, THE THRILL & THE MADNESS - it’s going to be a total knockout! #Liger arrives in theatres worldwide (sic)," wrote producer Karan Johar.

A glimpse video of the Puri Jagannadh directorial will be unveiled on December 31, as a New Year Eve treat. "This New Year, Aag Laga Denge," a poster unveiled on the occasion says.

The film, based on Mixed Martial Arts and starring Mike Tyson in a crucial role, will hit the screens in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Liger's schedule in the US was completed recently. Produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, 'Liger' also features Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy, Ali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu.
