Last year, there were reports that Mike Tyson, the legendary American former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005, would be seen in 'Liger'. The news was today made official by the makers of the Vijay Deverakonda movie. A poster in which VD's half-face is seen alongside Tyson's half-face is out.
"We promised you Madness! We are just getting started. For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle - #LIGER. The Baddest Man on the Planet. The God of Boxing. The Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON (sic)," an excited VD wrote on Twitter.
The Puri Jagannadh directorial has the backdrop of Mixed Martial Arts. And Tyson's role will be mighty and significant. The makers added that, with the entry of Tyson, 'Liger' is now a pan-world project. Produced by Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, 'Liger' will hit the screens in all major South Indian languages and Hindi. Ananya Pandey, Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu are part of the cast.
