The legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will turn 50 on April 24 this year. Now, the hot news is that he is going to get a life-size statue as his birthday gift. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to erect the statue of Tendulkar at the famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The MCA president Amol Kale said to the press, "It will be the first statue in Wankhede Stadium, we will decide where it will be placed. He (Sachin) is a Bharat Ratna and everyone knows what he has done for cricket. As he turns 50, it will be a small token of appreciation from the MCA. I spoke to him three weeks ago and his consent was received."
The master blaster already has a stand named after him in Wankhede. He played his final game for India in this same stadium back in November 2013 against the West Indies. The batting prodigy is likely to visit the Wankhede along with the MCA officials today to explore 2-3 sites inside the stadium where his statue can be installed.
