No matter whichever contest it was, 'Life of Pi' has been a monopoly at clinching the award. Now is yet another proud moment, just that at a higher degree this time. The most awaited award ceremony is here for this year, and 'Life of Pi' has bagged four Oscars at the 85th Academy Awards! Adapted from a 2001 novel by Yann Martel, the movie was nominated in categories, starting from starting from 'Best Picture', 'Best Adapted Screenplay' and 'Best Film Editing' to 'Best Original Song'.
The movie has won Ang Lee the award for 'Best Achievement in Directing', Claudio Miranda for 'Best Cinematography', Bill Westenhofer, Guillaume Rocheron, Erik-Jan de Boer and Donald R. Elliott for 'Best Visual Effects' and Mychael Danna for 'Best Original Score'. It is worth mentioning that the movie has already won about 47 awards at various international recognitions.
The film 'Life of Pi' is an American 3D adventure drama film, based on a novel by Yann Martel, directed by Ang Lee, adapted by David Magee and starring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Gérard Depardieu, Tabu, and Adil Hussain. The movie was first premiered as the opening film at the 50th New York Film Festival, on September 28th 2012. The movie saw its world-wide release on November 21st 2012, and has received numerous accolades ever since.
