Life is Beautiful Music Review

One thanks Shekar Kammula for his philosophy of life and style of filmmaking, more than anything, for this album.  Mickey J Meyer may not have lived up to his Happy Days stature, but LIB is yet lovable for its simplicity and purity.

Ananth Sriram and Vanamali indeed fill the void created by the death of late Veturi, whose lyrics for Kammula's films had been nothing less than hair-raising.

The right choice of singers makes LIB a proud 'Teluguness album', so to speak.

Mickey J Meyer tailor makes the song to fit the beautiful imagery that the title conjures up in audience.  Ananth Sriram's lyrics are simple yet sentimental, in that there is romanticisation of mundane living.  KK's vocals are gripping, while the chorus singers do the job of giving that Happy Days touch.

Beginning with the English lines, the song's gradual ascendance to the clichetic line 'Ye mundo ee ammayillo' is rather surprisingly refreshing.  Credit goes to Vanamali for infusing a quality of richness to ordinary feelings.  Karthik adds the much-needed youthful charm, while Meyer tends to repeat his Happy Days touch yet again.

Atu Itu Ooguthu

The song works in the main because of Ananth Sriram's lines.  Meyer could have done a better job than embellishing his done-to-death style with an influence or two.  Sri Ramachandra's mellifluous voice deserves mention.

It's Your Love

Naresh Iyer's husky voice is lovable.  Meyer, again, is inexorably routine.  Ananth Sriram's impressive phases like 'Puvvuki, tenaki puttina pedalatho', 'Gundello unnattundi yevvanamedo yediginda' are definitely top notch.  The instrumentation is pleasant on the ears.

Amma Ani Kotthaga

Artists: Sashi Kiran, Shravana Bhargavi
Lyricist: Vanamali

Vanamali's pen deserves kudos and more kudos.  The poetry is imbued in unalloyed love.  Sashi Kiran and Shravana Bhargavi breathe life into an unpretentious, lively song.  Meyer doesn't make it sound like a slow song, even though it is one.

While the lyrics celebrate life, Meyer's acoustics induce a sense of excitement around amiable living. Sri Ramachandra is at his sharpest best, yet again.  'Kaalam malapulo, tuntari vayasulo, sneham needalo..' and more such phrases are really haunting.
