Veteran actress and stunning B-Town diva Rekha turns 61 today. She does not look her age at all till date. This diva has ruled the box office since ages and till date has won hearts of many in the industry and out. Umrao Jaan - This movie was adapted from an Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada' which was written by Mirza Hadi Ruswa. Rekha played the role of a prostitute in Lucknow. He was highly recognized for her work in the movies and had also received the National Film Award for it.
Utsav - This movie was based on a classical tale of love and drama with political time. It was the first to show boldness and sensuality in the Indian cinema, which took the level of acting to a high stand. This movie starred Rekha and Shekhar Suman in the lead role.
Muqaddar Ka Sikandar - This movie starred the dashing Amitabh Bachchan and diva Rekha in the movie; both complemented each other very well. She plays a role of a prostitute in the movie and had easily out shown Amitabh in the movie. The song 'Salaam-e-Ishq' is like a trendsetter for any Murja song. They intense love story on screen is still liked and adored by many till date.
Silsila - This was a romantic drama between three ruling actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Jaya Bhaduri. This movie put an end to the most romantic couple on screen and the much talked about affair. Silsila' was directed by ace filmmaker Yash Chopra.
Khoobsurat -The role of Manju could have never been done by any actor other than Rekha. She gave full justice to her role and was liked by all in the industry and also by the audience.
