In a shocking incident, two lesbian women in Malaysia were caned after being caught attempting to have sex in a parked car. In addition to this they were also required to pay a fine of $800 or 3,300 ringgits. The most shocking fact was also that the duo were caned in public among hundred of onlookers.

Each woman was lashed six times as punishment. And it was also the first time the kind of punishment that was open to the public. The punishment took on Monday morning in the state of Terrengganu. Reportedly the situation for LGBT communityis getting harder and harder in Malaysia.

The state follows a Sharia law and it should also be noted that the punishment that the Sharia court ordered was backed by the Malayasian Islamic Party or Parti Islam Se-Malaysia. And also homosexual sex is illegal throughout Malaysia under the colonial era law.
