Lesbian romance in 'Son Of India' doesn't win marks

'Son Of India' hit the screens this Friday amid low expectations. Starring Dr. Mohan Babu as a wronged individual who kidnaps three high-profile individuals to set the system right, the film is directed by Diamond Ratnbabu. Produced by 24 Frames Factory and Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, its run-time is like a combination of three short films.
In a particular scene in the movie, two scantily-clad women kiss up. The lesbian romance goes uninterrupted, played to the gallery by titillating close-up angles. The faces are almost invisible until the women start the smooching act. The romance is interrupted by Mohan Babu's character.
The scene was conceived to supposedly make the film look updated. The lesbian relationship had more number of scenes for the film's OTT version. They were removed after 'Son Of India' skipped a direct OTT release.
The same-sex romance hasn't won anybody's heart. If anything, it seems to have backfired because there is no context and the purpose seems to be nothing but titillation.
