The shooting of Thalapathy Vijay's new mega movie 'Leo' is almost 50 percent complete. A major schedule is happening in Kashmir for the past one month and will continue for another month till March end. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and is produced on a grand scale by Lalit Kumar under the banner Seven Screen Studios.

'Leo' has one of the if not the highest expectations in recent time chiefly due to the combo of Thalapathy Vijay with Lokesh Kanagaraj whose last film 'Vikram' starring and produced by Kamal Haasan raking in over Rs.400 crores worldwide. Now it is said that without even the filming being completed the pre-release business has begun and Rs. 400 Crores is already in the producer's pocket.

Unconfirmed reports from the pan Indian film trade circles has provided breakup of the business done so far which is listed below.

Digital rights Netflix: Rs.120 crores (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada)

Satellite rights Sun TV: Rs.70 crores

Audio rights: Rs.18 crores

Hindi dubbing and satellite rights: Rs.30 crores

Overseas release rights; Rs. 50 crores

Tamil Nadu Theatrical rights: Rs.75 Crores

Kerala, Andhra, Telangana theatrical rights; Rs. 35 crores

North India theatrical rights: Rs.35 Crores

Sources say that in all probability 'Leo' will be a massive succes at the worldwide box office considering the plusses it has in its cast, crew and subject matter. The hot buzz is that it could well turn out to be the first Tamil film to touch the elusive Rs. 1000 Crores mark.

'Leo' has the stellar cast of Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mysskin, GVM, Priya Anand, Sandy, Mathew Thomas and Mansoor Ali Khan among others. The release date has already been announced as October 19th 2023.
