Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the famous Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. He was 98. The legendary actor died due to prolonged illness.
Profound condolences are pouring in from across the country. Megastar Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to say that an era has come to an end. "Deeply saddened by the passing of LEGEND #DilipKumar Saab. One of the GREATEST Actors India has ever produced, an Acting Institution & a National Treasure. Enthralled the world for several decades. May his soul Rest in Peace (sic)," the 'Acharya' actor tweeted.
Jr NTR said that Dilip Kumar's contribution to Indian cinema is priceless. Victory Venkatesh wrote and Dilip Kumar was and always will be a legend. "His legacy will continue to live in our hearts! My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends," the 'Narappa' actor added.
Dilip Kumar's contemporary and fellow Hindi cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan said, "An institution has gone. Whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written, it shall always be 'before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar'."
Earlier today, announcing Dilip Kumar's passing away, a family member wrote, "With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, a few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him, we return."
