The Centre has asked States to implement the lockdown in the country strictly. The directive added that violators should be acted against. This comes hours after the Modi government announced non-essential lockdown in India's 75 districts. States such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan announced blanket non-essential lockdown by going beyond the Centre's list.
The ICMR today said that the total number of Corona positive cases in India has touched 415. As many as 17,493 individuals have been tested so far.
For perspective, India has nearly doubled Coronavirus positive numbers in the last 48 hours.
In this scenario, Modi today said that many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously. "Please save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously. I request the state governments to get the rules and laws followed," the Prime Minister added.
