Layer'r Shot body spray ads promote rape culture: Netizens
Send us your feedback to audioarticles@vaarta.com
Body spray and perfume ads have always tried to promote a sexual culture. It's not objectionable as long as they are not vulgar, problematic, or crass. Adults can legitimately watch adult ads. But when they end up promoting voyeurism or rape, they surely deserve criticism.
Two ads of the Layer'r perfume have been condemned by Netizens for promoting rape culture. In both ads, four men seem like they are talking about raping a woman while in reality they are talking about a Shot deo bottle in the vicinity. The women in the ads are petrified when they don't know what the men are actually referring to. They fear that the men will molest them. The ads are offensive and obnoxious for the same reason, Netizens are saying.
Commenting on the same, a Twitter user wrote, "There have to be some regulations for ads. That Shot deo ad is nothing short of disgusting actually. Even though I knew it was an ad and it wouldn't happen. The fear for a second I felt was real. Imagine making an ad on the fears of millions of women! WTF!"
