Laya going South

It must be something of a sweet revenge for Andhrawallahs.

After seeing plenty of imports ruling the roost in Tollywood, it must be a sweet crumb of comfort to see a dyed in the wool Telugu girl going places.

And the girl in question is none other than the comely Laya.

One of the few genuine Andhra actresses in the field these days, Laya is set to travel to Kerala to do a film opposite none other Mammooty himself.

The film titled Thommante Makkal will have Laya playing the heroine.

For true Andhra fans, after seeing the likes of Asin, Gopika, Meera Jasmine and Kalyani (all Malluwood starlets), Laya turning up in Malayalam must be satisfying.

But some experts in the field are worried that Laya has to go to other languages as because offers are drying up for her here. Her foray into Tamil recently through Gajendra (a remake of Simhadri) was a major disaster.

Hopefully, Thommante Makkal faces a better deal at the box office and Laya herself has better luck in Kerala.
