Latha Rajinikanth the wife of Superstar Rajinikanth is running The Ashram Group of Institutions for several years and the concern has earned the reputation of being one of the best educational institutions in Chennai. The premises where the school is run in Guindy belongs to a father-son duo and In 2014 a case was filed that Latha Rajinikanth owed them one crore 99 lakhs.
In 2017 the owners without warning locked the gates of the school and after a court order the school was allowed to function again. In August 2018 the two sides reportedly came to a compromise and Latha agreed to vacate the premises and time was given till April 2020.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it became impossible to vacate the school and now the case once again came up for hearing and the court has given a final time till April 2021. A warning was also issued that failing to do so would attract contempt of court.
Latha Rajinikanth's trust has since posted a clarification on the issue on social media.
