Actor Suraj Venjaaramoodu set a new high with the role of a 70 years old Bhaskarettan in his latest film 'Android Kunjappan Version 5.25'. Directed by debutant Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, the movie is now all set to get Tamil and Telugu remake.
According to a report in TOI, the Tamil remake will be backed by veteran filmmaker K S Ravikumar, who is known for delivering several superhits such as Rajinikanth's Padayappa, Lingaa and Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam and Thenali. Ravikumar's associates Sabari and Saravanan are likely to helm the Tamil movie.
As the director is the master of delivering successful comedy-drama and has worked with almost all biggies in Kollywood, several rumors are doing the rounds on who will play the main lead. Meanwhile, the Telugu remake rights of Android Kunjappan were also sold a few months ago and the movie will have Mohan Babu playing the lead role. However, an official announcement regarding the remakes are awaited.
'Android Kunjappan Version 5.25', directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, is a realistic tale of a septuagenarian (Suraj Venjaramoodu) who has to deal with a robot, introduced by his son, in his otherwise ‘no-tech’ life. Actor Soubin played as Suraj's son in the movie, which opened to positive responses from the audience and critics alike.
Recently, the movie, won several State Awards this year including Best Actor for Suraj Venjaramoodu and Best Debutant Director for Ratheesh Poduval
