In 2009 Akshay Kumar had five of his films (Chandni Chowk To China, 8X10 Tasveer, Kambakkth Ishq, Blue, De Dana Dan) releasing in quick succession. The feat was repeated last year as well with four films arriving back to back (Housefull, Khatta Meetha, Action Replayy, Tees Maar Khan). However 2011 has been relatively quieter though with 'Patiala House' starting the year, 'Thank You' releasing in April and now 'Desi Boyz' arriving after a gap of six years. Quiz him about this and Akshay says that it has been a blessing to enjoy such a long gap for a change.
"I think it is perfect timing to have a good six months gap between 'Thank You' and 'Desi Boyz'," says Akshay who was seen in a special song and dance for his production 'Speedy Singhs', "Let the audience desire a film of mine rather than me constantly giving them one. I have been releasing films non stop for last so many months now. Now with this break in release schedule, I had time to focus on making my films rather than trying to fit in everything from making, shooting, dubbing, dancing, promoting and releasing all at once. Last six months since 'Thank You' were a blessing for sure."
With John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh as his other co-stars, John's 'Desi Boyz' (which is directed by Rohit Dhawan) will release all over on 25th November.
