With just a few days left for Tamil New Year's Day, a mad rush is on to have some movies released on the D-Day. Normally a host of movies would grace the theatres on the festive day including ones starring few biggies. It may be recalled that last year Rajinikanth had Chandramukhi, Kamal Hassan Mumbai Express and Vijay Sachin on this day.

This year, it seems unlikely that Kamal Hassan's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu would be ready for release. The movie has to cross few legal hurdles to make it.

Ready and raring to go is AVM's 167th venture Tirupathi starring Ajith. With all biggies associated, it is a movie to watch out this season. Movies like Dhanush's Pudhupettai and Githan Ramesh's Jerry have decided to postpone the release to May with elections around.

Starting the blocks as clear winner is Tirupathi.
