Director CS Amudhan had made his debut in 2010 with the movie Thamizh padam starring Shiva and Disha Pandey, and the movie which was Tamil cinema's first spoof film became a superhit. It's sequel Thamizh padam 2.0 also became a commercial success.

Yesterday, Netflix India had tweeted a question "Who's the first character you think of when you see the letter D?", and T Suresh, the editor of Thamizh padam answered with an image of D, the villain of Thamizh padam.

Replying to Suresh's tweet, CS Amudhan tweeted revealing an interesting detail about D. Amudhan tweeted "The decision to make paati the D as well as annan Shanmugasundaram a CBI officer were last minute decisions made just a few days before shoot & the team had to scramble to make it possible. A sad reckoning that both of them are not with us today."
