Ever since its inception, Bollywood has suffered from certain issues which signify that the industry doesn't favor equality on all fronts. Be it nepotism or gender biases, these problems are still somewhat prevalent in the industry. Pay disparity between male and female actors is one such issue which often sparks discussions among filmmakers and performers. Recently, actress Lara Dutta shared her two cents on the matter.
Lara acknowledged the problem as a big issue but she conceded that things are changing now. The actress told The Indian Express, "I think not just actors, but there are a lot more female technicians, directors, producers and even writers, who have all fought the disparity. And the change is happening for the ones who have managed to create a demand for themselves. From my experience, I can say that I am getting paid better than I was 10-15 years back.”
Lara is gearing up for the release of her OTT show 'Hiccups and Hookups' where she's going to play a middle aged woman trying to explore her sexual desires.
