The ethnic war in Sri Lanka has taken a turn for the worse.

As a result, the refugee influx to India has increased considerably. Now three movies are being churned out with the ethnic war in Lanka as its backdrop.

Jeeva's Rameswaram, Sundar C's Yazhpanam and Maan which will feature newcomers, are ready to hit the floors. All these films dwell on the ethnic war in Lanka.

In Rameswaram, Jeeva plays a Lankan refugee who reaches the shores of Rameswaram for his survival. In Yazhpanam, Sundar C plays an inspector who investigates a crime while Mann is a romantic movie set in Kanakarayankulam village in Sri Lanka's Vanni region.

It may be recalled that in the past, movies like Manirathnam's Kannathil Muthamittal and Bala's Nandha were inspired by the war in Lanka.
