Accepting a plea from the State industries minister Elamaram Kareem, Mohanlal has agreed to become the brand ambassador of Khadi and Handloom clothes in the state. The actor seems to be in the notion that this act will help to tide over image destruction if any, brought out by his recent tussle with Sukumar Azhikode, who also ridiculed his immense interest in endorsing commodities.

This sudden transformation to a Gandhian to endorse Khadi may sometimes invite criticisms, as the star is known for his endorsements jewels, textiles and even an immensely popular surrogate liquor brands with the tagline ‘Vaikittentha Paripady’?
