Lyca Productions announced collaborating with Aishwarya Rajinikanth in her directorial comeback, 'Lal Salaam'. With Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing the lead roles, Superstar Rajinikanth is roped in to play a cameo role in this upcoming film. The last time Thalaivar did a cameo role was in the 2008 flick 'Kuselan'.
Lal Salaam is a cricket drama which talks about religious discrimination in sports. The star cast comprises Vishnu Vishal, Vikranth, Rajinikanth, Kapil Dev (cameo), Jeevitha Rajashekar, Nirosha, Livingston, Senthil, Thambi Ramaiah, KS Ravikumar, Vignesh, Vivek Prasanna, Thangadurai, Dhanya Balakrishna, Akash Sahani, Nandakumar, Adithya Menon and many others.
The film has music composed by AR Rahman, cinematography handled by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing by B. Pravin Baaskar. The movie was announced in November 2022, along with the title of the film. Principal photography commenced in March 2023 and was wrapped in August 2023. 'Lal Salaam' will hit the screens worldwide on February 9, 2024.
