Mani Ratnam's dream project 'Ponniyin Selvan' is all set to begin filming in Thailand from the 12th of December where major portions will be shot for several weeks and the entire cast and crew will be camped there. The film already boasts of the stellar starcast of Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram and others.

The latest addition to 'Ponniyin Selvan' cast is popular Malayalam character artiste Lal who is famous in Tamil cinema for his terrific performances in several films including 'Sanda Kozhi' and 'Oram Po'. The director turned actor has shared a photograph of himself with Mani Ratnam on social media. The official announcement on the cast and crew is expected on the day of the commencement of the shoot just like how it was done for 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'.
