'Lakshmi's NTR' Trailer: Staged & bold

'He is my only mistake in my entire life', says NT Rama Rao (played by P Vijay Kumar) in the explosive Trailer for 'Lakshmi's NTR'. As soon as the infirm, cheated character completes his sentence, music director Kalyani Malik gets a playback singer scream 'Dagaa'. It's all in the style of RGV.
Yagna Shetty as Lakshmi Parvathi evokes sympathy. She is the underdog in a house full of privileged characters. Shritej, as Chandrababu Naidu, is remarkably ominous.
The dialogues are bold. Tucked away in the narration are characters such as that of Mohan Babu. Maybe, just maybe, the actors shouldn't have been made to imitate the real-life characters they are playing.
It has to be said that the proceedings have a staged feel about them.
Whatever may be the subject of the film, some things are a constant in a Ram Gopal Varma movie. Like the done-to-death background score. Like those weird camera angles.
Coming with the caption 'Asalu Katha' (the actual story), this one has been co-directed by Agasthya Manju. Rammy has done the cinematography (and it's not distinct in the Trailer). RGV has co-written it with Narendra Chary.
