Uday Kiran is playing hero in a bilingual film 'Lakshmi Putrudu' being produced by Polisetty Rambabu on the banner of RS Films in Tamil as well as Telugu simultaneously, under the direction of popular Tamil director Rajkumar.

Diya is playing the female lead opposite Udaykiran.

The director of the film Rajkumar has 23 Tamil films to his credit, while the producer had an experience of producing a Telugu film 'Gopi' (Goda Meeda Pilli). So far canning of three songs and shooting of 70 per cent of talkie was completed.

The final schedule of the movie would begin from July 18 and the unit is planning to wrap up the shooting with this schedule.

The producers are planning to release the film in the last week of August are in the first week of September.

D Imaan is providing music for the movie, while Suresh is holding the camera, and lyrics are being scripted by Kandikonda.

Satyaraj is playing the role of hero's father.
