Lakshmi Manchu might be busy producing her first film, a bilingual named 'Maranthen Mannithen', but she is glad to take up her work full time and become successful. Despite admitting that she'd prefer acting, she was soon to say that she doesn't intend to stop producing films any time soon.
ÂActing! Your job is over by the end of the day. Producing films is a big gamble, and the odds donÂt favour you. But I will keep going until I fall flat on my face.Â
The audio launch of Maranthen Mannithen took place recently and the music has been composed by Maestro Illayaraja. Lakshmi is confident about the music and thinks I will do well in both Kollywood and Tollywood.
ÂI canÂt wait to see the kind of response the songs will have here. Five of the tracks are same in both the languages and Raja uncle has reworked on one of his old tracks from Tamil and Telugu, which will be the highlight, she added.
The actress won the Nandi Award, for Best Villain for her role in Anaganaga O Dheerudu. Asked if she would take up a similar role again, she said ÂIÂm the only woman to receive an award in this category till date. Many asked me to reconsider playing the evil queen in my debut film, but how many would get an opportunity to be part of Walt DisneyÂs first production in south India? If I am asked to play a villain again, I would do it gladly!Â.
