Lakshmi Manchu has accepted a key role in a Tamil film starring Tharshan and Madhuri Jain. The 'Gudello Godari' actress is looking forward to playing a frank and forthright cop named Rajini in this film.
The 'Guntur Talkies' and 'Lakshmi Bomb' actress is not new to Kollywood. She was seen in Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' and then in the comedy-drama 'Kaatrin Mozhi' in 2018. In her latest film, which is yet to be shot, Lakshmi will be seen canning for some power-packed scenes that will have BGM by Anirudh Ravichander.
Tamil big-screen is no stranger to female actors essaying cop roles. Nayanthara (in 'Imaikkaa Nodigal'), Kajal Aggarwal (in 'Ghosty') and Jyothika (in 'Naachiyaar') have done so in recent years.
Speaking to a national daily, Lakshmi said that she has done her part of homework for the role by speaking with her cop-friends. Seen in 'Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma' and 'Pitta Kathalu' on OTT in recent months, the actress has also hosted the show Aha Bhojanambu.
