Lakshmi Manchu on facing casting couch

It's usually presumed that star kids don't face evils like casting couch in the film industry. A couple of years ago, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar spoke of a sexual overture from a media head. Even her father, actor Sarathkumar, expressed public shock at his daughter having had to go through it once.
The latest star kid to open up about casting couch is Lakshmi Manchu. Despite her being the daughter of someone as influential as Mohan Babu, she has faced things like sexism and casting couch. Speaking to Pinkvilla, the 'Gundelo Godari' actress said, "Yes, I face this all the time. Initially, I did not think that all of these would happen to me because of whose daughter I was or that I was born and raised in the industry but they are ruthless. Nobody is fair and kind anywhere."
Lakshmi's interview is disturbing. "If someone like Lakshmi has been a victim of casting couch demands by predators, imagine what girls with no background must be going through," a Netizen commented.
