'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' makers speaks out

'Lage Raho Munna Bhai' which has a special place in the Hindi film lovers hearts, took home the awards for the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment, best screenplay, best lyrics and best supporting actor awards.

The film really deserved all the awards that it grabbed.

It must be also remembered that the first part 'Munna Bhai MBBS' won the award for the best popular film at the 51st National Awards.

Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said that the national recognition came as a wonderful surprise.

He said that he is feeling very ecstatic after the awards were announced. But he is more happy because this acknowledgement is a great inspiration for the newcomers and the fresh talent of Bollywood who have a fire in their belly to make a mark in the film industry.

He said that the achievements of the new comers Abhijaat Joshi who was one of the screenplay writers and Swanand Kirkire who won the best lyrics award makes him and Rajkumar Hirani very proud.

Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the movie, said that he is very happy because a film based on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi has won the best award for wholesome entertainment.

He also praised Abhijaat Joshi and Swanand Kirkire by expressing that the new guys winning the prestigious awards make the magic moments even greater.

Screen play writer Swanand Kirkire told that although he has won the award, the achievement was a result of a collaborative effort and the film is a collective piece of work.

He conveyed his gratefulness to Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Shantanu Moitra for bringing the best out of him and creating the atmosphere where one can strive for excellence.
