A lady police constable Nandhini of Vepery station entered the Egmore branch of Nilgiris Department stores and acting as though she is engrossed in phone call started taking chocolates and other small items and hiding them in her uniform packets.  While going out she tried to pay for one item but the staff who noticed the theft on CCTV camera forced her to return the goods and also made her write a letter accepting her crime.

An angered Nandhini then informed her husband who came to the store alongwith two henchmen and started beating up the store staff including the franchise owner Pranav.  This scene was also captured on camera and the police were called in (!!!???) who promised to internally investigate and take action against Nandhini and her husband.
