'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl' based on 'John Tucker Must Die'? - Anushka defends

Ever since Yash Raj films' next outing 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl' was announced, there have been speculations around whether the film is a remake of Hollywood comedy 'John Tucker Must Die' (2006). However leading lady Anushka Sharma has rubbished all such rumours and claimed that 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl' team would be 'fools' to remake a well known Hollywood film and expect that audience won't catch similarities.
You know what, it's really sad but true that the first thing when a film is announced, so many out there want to start drawing parallels with what has already been made, whether in-house or in West. No one cares a thought around the fact that the team would have in fact worked hard on making an out and out original product, says a close associate of Anushka.
Starring Jesse Metcalfe in the title role, 'John Tucker Must Die' was about four young woman (Brittany Snow, Ashanti, Sophia Bush, Arielle Kebbel) who took the flirtatious young man to task after he was found to be cheating on them. Now 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl' also sounds suspiciously similar, what with Ranveer Singh (of 'Band Baaja Baaraat' fame) being the centre of attraction and Anushka Sharma along with Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma and Aditi Sharma taking him to task.
Well, you can spin the tale in whatsoever manner that you may like but if you look at the synopsis of 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl', it clearly states that the male lead out here is a smooth and charming conman who cons girls for a living and makes money out them but finally meets his match, which is me. Beyond that I am not willing to talk about the film, declares Anushka before signing off.
Sure Anushka, we would know for ourselves once we catch the film on 9th December.
