In 'Laatti' Vishal plays a constable who is a hero to his school-going child. "If you want to enter the premises of the school, you have to do it in uniform," he says. The cutesy father-son scenes give way to romantic husband-wife scenes, where we see Sunaina as a saree-clad housewife.
Slated to hit the screens on December 22, the film is high on action and police patriotism. "When our superiors tell us constables to brandish the laatti against baddies like you, it's not an order but an offer," says Vishal's character, with blood dripping from his face. He is badly bruised and the theatre of action is an under-construction building.
Written and directed by A Vinoth Kumar, the pan-India release is produced by Ramana and Nandaa of Rana Productions.
The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja The actioner has got cinematography handled by the Balasubramanian-Balakrishna Thotta duo. Edited by NB Srikanth, the actioner has stunts by Peter Hein. If the Art Direction is by Kannan, the costumes have been done by Vasuki Bhaskar. The dialogues for the Telugu version are by Rajesh A Murthy.
