Expectations

Making a comedy film is not an easy task. You need a good script, proper actors and most important a right director who knows when and how to narrate his tale. Every few month we have one light hearted comical film or a rom-com, but very few manage to hit the right chord.

'Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana' is being marketed well with less known stars and promises to be a good room-come with some great actors associated with it. The expectation level are not that high, as the movie lacks a chartbuster song along with a star value attached to it.

Story

'Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana' is a story of Laadoo (Vivaan Shah), who leaves his father's (Darshan Jhariwala) house and moves to the city of Baroda. Laaddoo wants to become a multi millionaire, but before that he joins his uncle Kabir's (Sanjay Mishra) restaurant. It's out there he meets Laali (Akshara Haasan). Assuming Laali to be a rich girl, Laaddoo bluffs about his father and their ancestral properties.

Laaddoo and Laali become good friends and after a while falls in love with each other. One thing leads to another and after a while Laali becomes pregnant with Laaddoo's kid. Laaddoo on the other end wants to focus on his career. Laali and Laaddoo's paths get separated and at that time Laali gets a marriage proposal of Vir (Gurmeet Choudhary). This leads to a series of unwanted situations involving every character in the film.

The 'Glitz' Factor

The story idea is quite similar to the Priyadarshan kind of movies. The concept despite of being weird is still unusual. Though, there are a couple of tiff and discussion scenes between Darshan Jhariwala, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra, which are engaging. The cinematography is good and the movie has been shot quite well.

Director Manish Harishankar comes up with a script which had the potential to become a non-stop laughter ride, but ends up being a victim of weak and half-baked script. Saurabh Shukla, Darshan Jariwala, Sanjay Mishra and Ravi Kishan lend good support in their respective roles.

The 'Non-Glitz' Factor

Everything out here, is done in a juvenile manner. Right from the actor's performances, idiotic situations, dialogues, song placement, screen length and jittering direction, nothing seems to be right in this movie. Besides few good scenes, the movie is like a never ending soap drama where things keep occurring without any specific reason. There are many loopholes in this movie.

These tracks are randomly placed in the film and fails to enhance the flow of the film. The dialogues are weak. There are loads of songs and none of them are qualified to seek your attention. The filmmakers have forced a bad item song by KavittaVerma. Background music is forced and pretentious.

Director Manish Harishankar’sconfusion in the script fails to come out on the screen. The movie has been narrated in very lethargic and weak manner.

Vivaan Shah looks terrible as a lead hero and fails to act. He keeps murmuring dialogues inside his mouth. Akshara Haasan is fine till the time she opens up her mouth. Gurmeet Choudhary looks great, but struggles a lot with his bad English language. None of these three actors manage to make their mark as an actor. Kavitta Verma looks like botox-gone-wrong-to-Rakhi-Sawant type of girl. Suhasini Mulay, Navni Parihar and others are wasted.

Final 'Glitz'

'Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana' is more like a registered marriage without any fun or entertainment.
