After being in production for several years, Aamir Khan's highly awaited film 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is finally going to release about a week later. As it is widely known now, the film is a remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks film 'Forrest Gump' which won Academy Award for Best Picture. 'Forrest Gump' was highly influenced by American pop culture and big historical events and it'd be interesting to see how 'Laal Singh Chaddha' adapts them in the Indian context.
The original film also featured some adult lovemaking scenes but Aamir Khan has recently clarified that none of those have been retained in the remake.
The actor told Prabhat Khabar, "Laal Singh Chaddha is majorly inspired by the original, Forrest Gump. However, we have made some changes to suit the sensibilities of the Indian audiences. The Hollywood film had a few adult scenes; we did not take those in our film. We want that people watch our film with their entire families.”
Also starring Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is set to release theatrically on 11th of August.
