As reported already, Naga Chaitanya is playing Aamir Khan's friend in 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film has the 'Thank You' actor in an affable role.
Talking about his character in the movie, Chay says, "In the August 11th release, I have played a Telugu guy who hails from Bodipalem in Andhra Pradesh. Names like Balakrishna and Balaraju were mooted, and since Aamir garu and the director liked Balaraju, we went with that. Incidentally, it is the title of a 1948 movie starring my grandfather."
He adds, "We spent a lot of time on the look. For the first time, I have tried a moustache. It felt special. A mouthpiece was also designed and it helped in dialogue delivery and diction."
Chay and Aamir feature in war sequences in the film. "As a producer, I felt it was comfortable to work with Chaitanya. As an actor, he is always on the ball. He is focused and so comfortable to work with," the 'Dangal' star said.
The director said that, despite being a non-Hindi-speaking actor, Chay was bang on with his lines.
Chay's character in 'LSC' will be seen for 20 to 30 minutes. "Usually, southern actors picked for Hindi films are asked to adapt to the nativity of the Hindi characters, be it their body language or mien. But here, I was asked to be myself and behave like a Telugu person," Chay recently said.
