Director KV Anand who has been known for his intelligent commercial entertainers like Ayan, Ko, Anegan etc had last directed the Vijay Sethupathi starrer Kavan released before two years and is now getting ready for the release of his next movie Kaappaan starring Suriya.

Kaappaan is the third movie from Suriya - Anand combo after Ayan and Maattraan and has the actor playing an NSG Commando trying to find and eliminate the threats to the Indian Prime Minister played by Mohanlal. Kaappaan also stars Arya, Sayyeshaa and Samuthirakani and has music by Harris Jayaraj.

Recently the trailer of Kaappaan was released and received mixed response, and when questioned about this in an interview, KV Anand has responded that the trailer was cut intentionally in that way to look like a collage of songs and fights, and not reveal plot twists besides also to inform the trade that the movie has all elements in it for wide audience. Kaappaan releases on September 20.
