Movies which have children as the main protagonists are not that common in mainstream Malayalam cinema. 'Kuttikalundu Sookshikuka' dares to traverse that path but fumbles with its intention. What is intended as a serious nationalistic movie with patriotic fervor is reduced to a funny and lamantable creation. Director Kalavoor Ravikumar infuses too much of unlikely and melodramatic chaos for the movie to be any credible.

In 'Kuttikalundu Sookshikuka' we have two siblings Niranjan and Neeraj grieving the loss of their father who was a commando martyred while trying to save civilians during the Mumbai terror attack. Interestingly they happen to see the terrorist in their vicinity and decide to take matters into their hands. They spray him with cholorofoam and drag him on board a bus to take him home with them. There they lock him in the storeroom to mete out their revenge.

If this much of the plot is not bizarre then what is not. There are too many instances that is way out of the world that it ends up hilarious. Terrorists whom the intelligence agency can't trace walking freely on road, children deciding to have fun with the man, the bus on which they drag his inert form without arousing the suspicion of fellow passengers, all those big mouthing of patriotic dialogues to the terrorist - well, they end up being rather funny with its absurdity.

The children are played by two talented actors Sidarth Ajith and Sanoop Santhosh. They do deliver that is required of them. Only that they landed a bad script. Bhavana is also good as their mother though the over the top melodrama takes its toll on her at times. Anoop Menon does a cameo that completes the bizzare plot. The poor terrorist is way too hilarious.

'Kuttikalundu Sookshikuka' is a badly scripted movie. It is hard to find the movie appealing in whatever way. Be it the overall feel or the songs or the intended effect, the movie flounders from the start.
