The teaser of 'Kuthiravaal' from the Pa. Ranjith stable shows an interesting premise of a man dreaming about a tailless horse finds that tail growing on his backside. The other surrealistic elements are a girl searching literally for her memories and the hero's voice changing to that of MGR who passes away on that particular day.
Pa. Ranjith with his Neelam Productions has produced thought provoking films such as 'Pariyerum Perumal' and 'Irandaam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu'. This time with 'Kuthiraivaal' his debutante directors Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder may have come up with a Fellini-like neorealistic entertainer a genre that's seldom seen from Kollywood.
'Kuthiraivaal' has music score by Pradeep Kumar and Maarten Visser and the cast apart from Kalaiarasan and Anjali Patil includes Lakshmi,Chetan Kadambi, Anand Sami and Sowmya Jaganmurthy.
On the whole without giving any hint about where the story is heading the 'Kuthiraivaal' teaser raises the expectation for something that is intriguing as well as funny which may be exactly what the pandemic affected audience may be hungry for.
